Dr Green studied Medicine at the University of Leicester Medical School. After graduating he had attachments at Northampton General Hospital and Leicester Royal Infirmary on the Academic Foundation Programme, where he completed a Post Graduate Certificate in Clinical Leadership and Management. He subsequently trained to be a General Practitioner (GP), on the Northampton Specialist GP Training programme.
Since 2013 he has worked as a GP Partner and trainer at Eleanor Cross Healthcare, working across Delapre Medical Centre and Whitefields Surgery. In addition, Dr Green is an Associate Postgraduate Dean at Health Education England – East Midlands, leading on GP Trainee assessments. He holds further roles with the Northants. LMC, Northamptonshire Out of Hours and an Honorary position as Senior Lecturer in Medical Education at the University of Leicester, and is currently completing an MA in Medical Education at the University of Swansea.
Dr Green has clinical interests in Cardiology and Lipid Medicine. He is a keen advocate for careers in General Practice and working amongst a widening multi-professional team, to provide new models of patient care. He has an enthusiasm and academic interest in medical education, in particular in finding new ways of developing and assessing the medical workforce of the future. He is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, and a Member of the Academy of Medical Educators.
Dr Green believes in the potential of federated practice and for this reason chose to become a Director of General Practice Alliance.
When he’s not busy working he enjoys spending time with his daughters and family, following the Mercedes AMG F1 team, electronic music, skiing, sailing and generally enjoying what life has to offer!
