Booking Appointments
Appointments are booked via the remote booking appointment function on SystmOne.
Please give a brief detail of the problem on the ledger and if the appointment is by Telephone or face-to-face. If face-to-face, please advise patients of the location.
If Telephone appointment, please do not give an exact time but advise they will be called during the clinic session times:
- 18:30 – 21:20
- 09:00 – 13:00
- 13:00 – 16:50
This is due to clinicians prioritising their ledgers and if patients don’t answer the phone on the first attempt. Sometimes clinicians also get delayed on a call.

Case Study
We provide complex care for patients whose wounds require daily attention and dressing to enable them to live a normal life as possible. We share the workload with the GP practices as we offer times to suit all patients.
We have for example seen a complex compression patient who requires three times weekly bandaging for the past year. Their appointments are 45 minutes long, which is a large demand on a practice, which we can take away entirely while still given the care the patient requires to the standard the practice expects.
Since Covid there has been a surge in hospital admissions for routine surgical procedures which require daily aftercare and at GPEA we provide the essential aftercare that these patients require to prevent infection and disruption. This is particularly important for weekend appointments which these patients will require in the first days after their procedure.
Our goal is to provide compassionate and comprehensive care to all our patients, helping them on their journey to recovery.
